Terms of Service
Last updated: November 1, 2026
These terms apply to Compass PDF Editor ("the app") and its subscriptions, provided by the Compass PDF Editor team in Israel ("we", "us"). By installing the app or buying a subscription you agree to them, together with the licence agreement shown when the app is installed.
Who sells the subscription
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Trial and free use
New installations include a 14-day trial of all features. After the trial, opening, reading, searching, printing and filling in forms remain free. Editing and saving changes require an active subscription.
Subscriptions and billing
- Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly in advance and renew automatically until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time from the link in your receipt email or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- We may change prices for future periods. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before a price change applies to your subscription.
Licence
- A Pro licence may be used by one person on up to two computers. A Business licence covers the number of users purchased.
- You may not resell, share, reverse engineer or remove the licence checks from the app, except where the law allows it.
- If your subscription ends, the app returns to free reading mode. Your files remain yours and stay readable.
Your files
The app works on files stored on your computer. You are responsible for your documents and for keeping backups. Always keep a copy of important files before editing, redacting or signing them.
Warranty
We work hard to make the app reliable, but it is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind beyond those required by law. We do not guarantee that it will be error-free or suit every purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost data or profits.
Third-party components
The app includes open-source components under their own licences, listed in the app's About window.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without limiting any consumer rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
